Acura A1 Service or B2 Service – What Do These Numbers Mean?

Doral’s Auto Repair is the premier San Leandro Acura shop that can provide your Acura with everything it needs, including A services and B services. But have you ever wondered what these Acura service designations mean?
We all know that Acura A service is an oil and oil filter change, but what about A1 service? Acura B service is a bit more involved, but then again, what is B2 service?
The number of designations indicates that additional inspections and checks are to be performed on top of the base service. They apply to both A and B services:
- Tire rotation – so A1 service means oil change and tire rotation
- Replace dust and pollen filters, and check the drive belt in addition to the base service
- In addition to the base service, replace transfer fluid and transmission fluid (if applicable).
- Four is the really big one, because in addition to the base service, it also involves spark plugs replacement, replacing timing belt ( if applicable ), inspecting valve clearance, and water pump inspection ( most professional shops, including Doral’s, will recommend water pump replacement with timing belt replacement – that’s because most of the cost of water pump replacement is labor, and that’s already covered when we perform timing belt replacement)
- Base services plus coolant flush and replacement
- Rear differential fluid replacement (if applicable) and the base service
It is important to mention that at Doral’s Auto Repair we go beyond the minimum recommended by the manufacturer. When you bring your Acura for service at our San Leandro car care facility, we will also perform a complimentary digital vehicle inspection, which will provide you with an up-to-date information on the overall condition of your
vehicle.
So next time your Acura needs service or repairs, call Doral’s and our friendly service advisors will answer your questions and confirm appointment time during the same call.
