Our San Leandro auto repair shop provides services and repairs for all popular Nissan models, including:

Nissan Altima is a midsize car that’s been on our roads for almost thirty years. The Altima is Nissan's best-selling model, and was awarded North American Car of the Year in 2002. It was also named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety in 2017. Altima is very popular, although there were a couple of model years that require particular attention to service and maintenance. 2013 Nissan Altima suffered from transmission problems, as well as air conditioning problems. 2009 Altima struggled with steering problems, but the more recent models seem to have overcome these issues.

Nissan Maxima is another popular full size vehicle from Nissan. Introduced forty years ago (as Datsun Maxima), it was originally built in Japan, and starting with the 2004 model, in Smyrna, Tennessee. Sadly the 2004 model had plenty of transmission and engine problems, so did 2005 Maxima and 2006 Maxima. But since then, it progressively improved its quality, and the most recent model owners report few problems.

Nissan Sentra a compact vehicle, and has been around for almost forty years. 2005 Sentra suffered from engine problems, in particular, from blown head gasket. 2013 and 2014 models had transmission issues. More recent models report few problems. Having said that, we recommend regular maintenance to keep your vehicle in peak condition, and also to identify any developing problems.

Nissan Versa is a subcompact vehicle that is very affordable and very fuel efficient. In our experience, it is not uncommon for a Versa to deliver 40 mpg or better on the highway. As for Versa service and repairs, 2009 Versa suffered from suspension issues, specifically broken coil springs. The 2012 model had transmission issues, and so did the 2015 Versa, so we recommend that you bring the Versa to your friendly mechanic for regular checkups.

Nissan Roadster aka 350Z   has been known to have some transmission issues, but it was manufactured only for a few years, and small numbers were sold, so there isn’t much data on known problems. We do recommend regular checkups and oil service to keep your 350Z in top shape.

Nissan Quest Minivan – even though Nissan discontinued Quest production in 2017, Doral’s Auto Repair continues to support Quest owners. As the minivans are getting older, we highly recommend regular maintenance service to stay on top of any developing problems. Regular maintenance service prolongs engine life as well, so it will help to keep your Quest on the road for years to come. 2004 and 2007 Quest models had transmission and engine problems.

Nissan JUKE is a subcompact crossover SUV introduced in 2010. Models manufactured in 2011 and 2013 had a variety of engine problems, while the 2012 model had electrical issues.

Nissan Rogue is a compact crossover SUV. It has won several awards Unfortunately, the 2013 Rogue suffered from transmission problems, while 2014 and 2015 models suffered from air conditioning problems.  Later models report few problems, as supported by the 2019 Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buy Award.

Nissan Murano is a mid-sized crossover SUV, first introduced in 2002. It is very popular in the Bay Area, thanks to its ample interior space and crash test rating of five stars in all categories from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  2009 Murano suffered from brake issues – soft brake pedal, and ABS problems. Among the newer models, only 2015 model stands out for its transmission issues.

Nissan Xterra is a front engine, 5 passenger, compact SUV. The worst year for the Xterra was 2005. This model suffered radiator leaks which caused transmission failure, resulting in very expensive repairs.  Sadly Xterra model years 2006, 2007 and 2008 also saw transmission problems. Subsequent model years report very few problems – partially due to poor sales, which in our mind was a direct result of the transmission issue. Xterra was discontinued in 2016. If you still own one, you can count on Doral’s to support your vehicle – bring it in for an oil service and an overall checkup.

Nissan Pathfinder is an iconic name and has been manufactured since 1986. Rugged and ready for an adventure, Nissan Pathfinder has been a popular choice among Bay Area residents. Sadly, just like the Xterra, Nissan Pathfinder 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 suffered from coolant leaking into transmission, causing transmission problems, including outright transmission failures.  Fortunately, the problem went away with the 2009 model. Transmission issues returned with the 2013 and 2014 Pathfinder models, though they were not as severe as the failures of the past.

Nissan Armada is a full size SUV, available since 2004. It provides ample interior space, and plenty of power. The early models, 2004-2008 suffered from various brake problems. Later models see few problem reports.

Nissan Frontier is a pickup truck that’s been around for 45 years. Just like the Xterra and Pathfinder it had transmission problems from 2005 to 2008. However, unlike the other two, sales recovered and had been going strong until the 2020 and the Covid pandemic, which caused a large drop in auto and pickup truck sales in general. 2012 Nissan Frontier had some engine problems, but overall it performs well and more recent models have few problem reports.

Nissan Titan is a full-size pickup truck. It has the most standard power, tech, and safety features in its class. 2004 Titan had drivetrain and cooling system problems, while the 2005 model continued with drivetrain issues as well as some electrical system problems.  2012 Titan model had suspension problems. Most recent model years show few problems.

Nissan Leaf is a compact five-door battery electric vehicle. Leaf won 2010 Green Car Vision Award and is increasingly popular on Bay Area roads. At Doral’s Auto Repair we offer Nissan Leaf maintenance and repairs, along with hybrid vehicle repairs. Nissan Leaf problem reports center around decreased battery capacity and brake problems.

Nissan NV Vans – whether you own a single NV 200 or a fleet of NV 1500 or NV2500 vans, Doral’s Auto Repair can provide your vehicles with regular maintenance as well as advanced diagnostics and repairs.
